As R & D staff have moved to the workplace of the new building, the company will be fully prepared for more than 7000 employees by September 2023.

TSMC's R & D center covers a total area of 300000 square meters and has about 42 standard football fields. Liu Deyin, chairman of TSMC, said at the opening ceremony that now that he has entered the R & D center, he will more actively develop technologies that lead the world's semiconductor industry, exploring technologies of 2 nanometers or even less than 1.4 nanometers. He said the R & D center began planning more than five years ago and had a lot of ingenuity in design and construction, with ultra-high roofs and plastic workspaces.

Liu Deyin stressed that the most important thing in the R & D center is not magnificent architecture, but TSMC's R & D tradition. He said that when the R & D team entered the wafer 12 plant in 2003 to develop 90 nanotechnology, and 20 years later, the R & D team entered the R & D center to develop 2 nanotechnology, which is 90 nm 1ax 45, which means they have to stay in the R & D center for at least 20 years.

Liu Deyin said that in 20 years' time, the R & D staff of the R & D center will give the answer to the size of semiconductor components, what materials to use, how to integrate light and electrical acids, and how quantum digital operations will be shared, and find out how to produce in large quantities.
