CTOnews.com, July 28 (Xinhua)-- Anastasia Shatilovich and his team from the RAS Institute of soil Science in Russia recently found and "resurrected" two frozen nematode individuals from silt deposits in the Siberian permafrost.

After thawing the worm in a laboratory environment, Shatilovich and his team conducted a radiocarbon analysis of the plant material in the cave and found that the frozen sediment 40 meters below the surface was from the late Pleistocene (Pleistocene), about 45,839 to 47769 years ago.

If this discovery is accepted by its peers, it will break the Cryptobiosis record.
