CTOnews.com, July 27 (Xinhua)-- in March last year, a Tesla employee was fired after posting a video on social media showing his Model 3 hitting a roadblock after turning on FSD Beta. Recently, he posted an even more disturbing video showing Tesla's autopilot system running a red light when turning left into the highway and @ Musk and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The former Tesla employee is John Bernal (John Bernal), a former senior driving assistance system tester for Tesla. He has a channel on YouTube called AIAddict, which records his self-driving tests in his private car after work. Tesla revoked his access to FSD Beta after he was fired, but retained the previous autopilot software on his own Model 3, he said.

A video released by Bernal earlier this month showed Tesla's autopilot system nearly causing an accident when it turned left onto a highway in Silicon Valley, California, without noticing the red light signal. The video has attracted the attention and concern of many netizens. Tesla founder Elon Musk (Elon Musk) hopes to upgrade the FSD software from a beta version to an official version and make it available to all Tesla owners by the end of this year.

Bernal said on social media yesterday that his video had attracted the attention of some government agencies investigating Tesla's autopilot program and that they had contacted him.

In fact, Tesla has been faced with various investigations and doubts. Last year, the US Department of Justice launched a federal investigation into Tesla's possible criminal acts. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has also conducted special investigations into at least 20 deaths on Tesla's vehicles since 2016. Earlier this year, Tesla recalled more than 350000 vehicles equipped with FSD Beta software at the request of NHTSA to address various safety concerns. Tesla was also investigated by the California Motor vehicle Administration (DMV).
