Market research firm Canalys released the 2023 Q2 global smartphone market report, which showed that global smartphone shipments fell by 10% year-on-year, narrowing the decline from Q1 in 2023, showing signs of improvement. Among the top five smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi was the first to gain the favor of recovering demand in the smartphone market. Q2 market share increased by 2 percentage points month-on-month to 13%, and market share rose sharply from the previous month, leading the industry.

Canalys pointed out that the smartphone market is sending early signs of recovery after six consecutive quarters of declines since 2022, and that healthier inventory levels by handset makers can effectively prepare for a potential market recovery. Diversified channel incentives and targeted marketing measures will stimulate consumer demand, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and other more open market layout will become the driving force for the sustainable growth of mobile phone manufacturers.

Since last year, Xiaomi has devoted itself to optimizing the inventory structure and achieved remarkable results in inventory management. In the first quarter of 2023, the group's overall inventory was 42.6 billion yuan, down 24.1% from a year earlier and the lowest level in nearly nine quarters. At the same time, Xiaomi firmly promoted the high-end strategy, launching Xiaomi 13 Ultra in April 2023, and the satisfaction rate of e-commerce customers in the first month exceeded 99%.

With the official launch of Xiaomi Intelligent Manufacturing Mathematical Intelligence system 2.0 in Beijing Yizhuang Intelligent Factory, the first mass production model, Xiaomi MIX Fold 3, will be released in August. Xiaomi's high-end track has been constantly moving forward to prepare for a new round of outbreaks in the next two to three years.
