CTOnews.com July 27 news, International Data Corporation (IDC) now released the latest mobile phone quarterly tracking report shows that in the second quarter of 2023, China's smartphone market shipments of about 65.7 million units, a year-on-year decline of 2.1%, the decline significantly narrowed.

In the first half of this year, China's smartphone market shipped about 130 million units, down 7.4% year-on-year. Data show that smartphone sales fell more than 5% year-on-year throughout the "618" boom, and consumer demand continued to be depressed.

IDC believes that underlying consumer demand has not yet recovered, so manufacturers and shipments upstream of the supply chain will not change significantly. China's smartphone market is still at a low ebb, and market conditions have not improved.

As for the share of major manufacturers, OPPO came to the first place this quarter, but it decreased except Apple and Huawei.

Analysts pointed out that although the overall smartphone market in China continues to be in a downturn, the high-end market above $600 (CTOnews.com note: currently about 4290 yuan) is less affected.

IDC data show that China's market share of high-end mobile phones above $600 reached 23.1% in the second quarter, up 3. 1 percentage point.

In terms of major manufacturers, OPPO ranks among the top three in the high-end market share of more than $600 with Find X6 series and Find N2 & Flip series, and Find N2 Flip has outstanding performance, becoming the first folding screen product in the first half of the year; meanwhile, it has obvious advantages in the market of $400 -600 relying on Reno series.

Vivo, with X Fold2 and X Flip, the first vertical folding product, ranked in the top two on the list of mobile phones with large folding screens in "618."

Glory won more offline market share with Glory 90 series and X series.

Apple's popularity with consumers has improved significantly after the price adjustment of the iPhone 14 series, further consolidating its dominant position in the high-end market.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been added several times before its official release to increase its stock volume, increasing Xiaomi's high-end market share above $600.

With the normal rhythm of new product release, Huawei's shipments continued to recover, with a year-on-year growth rate of 76.1% among TOP manufacturers in the second quarter, and the P60 series and folding screen Mate X3 series remained in second place in the high-end market above $600.
