CTOnews.com July 27, developer Pete Batard today released the Rufus 4.2 stable update, which does not introduce major new features / features, but improves many of the BUG existing in previous versions and optimizes operational performance.

Rufus 4.2 stable Edition mainly supports ZIP64, which allows you to extract images larger than 4GB, as well as backing up and restoring the current disk in VHDX and FFU image formats.

Add detections and warnings to undone UEFI bootLoaders (including boot loaders that are undone by SkuSiPolicy.p7b)

Add support for ZIP64 to decompress .zip images larger than 4GB

Support for backing up and restoring the current disk in VHDX image format

Support for backup and recovery of current disks in compressed FFU (Full Flash Update) format

Fixed crash when opening Windows ISO when compiling x86 32-bit version with MinGW

Fixed an issue where bootable ISO images with EFI tags were not detected as bootable

Increase the ISO → ESP limit for Debian 12 netinst images

Ensure that the primary partition size is aligned with the cluster size

Rufus is a tool that can help format and create bootable U disks, and can make boot disks for operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android-x86, and so on. The latest version 4.2 is now available for download from GitHub.
