Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com July 27, Micron announced that its HBM3 Gen 2 memory is providing customers with samples and that its 32Gb DDR5 particles will be shipped in 2024, using the DUV-based 1 β nm process, when a single memory capacity can reach 128GB.

According to Meguiar, 1 β technology can improve energy efficiency by about 15% and memory density by more than 35%. Some people in the industry have analyzed that Meguiar 1 β technology is about equivalent to 14-12nm process.

CTOnews.com Note: Gb is G bit, which is a unit of DRAM density, different from GB (G Byte). There are multiple DRAM chips in a memory strip, and the combination of these DRAM particles is Rank (memory block), where the maximum logic capacity is 128GB.

Meguiar has not disclosed its 32Gb DRAM data, but given that these products are part of Micron's third-generation DDR5 technology, they are expected to be quite fast.

According to reports, this kind of 32Gb products have special advantages for data center-level memory and open the door for 1TB DDR5 memory (using 32 8-Hi 32Gb chips). At present, however, Meguiar is not in a hurry. Next year, it will only provide DDR5 memory with the highest 128GB, but it will launch 192GB and 256GB DDR5 memory in the future.

In addition, the roadmap released by Micron on Wednesday reaffirmed Micron's plan to mass-produce 32 GT/s 16/24GB GDDR7 chips by mid-2024, as well as 32/64GB 's HBMNext memory, which will provide 1.5TB / s 2 + TB / s bandwidth in the future.

At present, the DDR5 SDRAM products listed on Meguiar's official website are 16Gb and 24Gb products, including 1Gb × 16, 2Gb × 8, 4Gb × 4 and 3Gb × 8. The specifications of the mass-produced models are all shown as DDR5 4800.

It is worth mentioning that according to Samsung's DRAM roadmap presented in October last year, its 32Gb DDR5 particles will also be launched in 2024.

Samsung's official website shows that its DDR5 SDRAM products are also 16Gb models, offering 2GB × 8 and 1GB × 16 specifications, and the speed is also shown as DDR5 4800.

SK Hynix's official website PPT shows that the company is also an 16Gb product, including 1Gbx16 and 2Gb × 8, with capacities ranging from 8GB to 32GB, using 4, 8, 16, 10, 20 DRAM chips, all with DDR5 4800 specifications.
