CTOnews.com, July 27 (Reuters)-Amazon executives have revealed that its cloud division has attracted thousands of customers to try out its services, competing with Microsoft and Google in key areas of artificial intelligence.

The company also announced new AI tools on Wednesday, including a plan to build more conversational customer service agents, a technical visit from startup Cohere, and a health care system to generate clinical records after a patient's visit.

Organizations such as Sony, Ryanair and Yongming have tried out Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon announced the service in April, allowing companies to create applications using a range of AI models, the report said. Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Amazon, said that this generation technology can generate new text, images and other content based on commands.

Amazon Bedrock is Amazon's response to AI services from Google and Microsoft, where artificial intelligence developed or sold by two cloud competitors has attracted a lot of public attention, such as ChatGPT and Bard chat robots previously reported by CTOnews.com.

Amazon announced on Wednesday that it hopes to win business by offering a wider range of AI models than its peers, including access to updated technologies from startups Anthropic and Stability AI. Amazon says its role as the largest cloud provider by revenue-- which already hosts a lot of customer data-- also makes it different.
