In order to solve this problem, a robot engineer named Ken Pillonel spent a lot of time and effort to design and make the first fully repairable AirPods Pro charging box. He not only replaced the interface of the charging box with the USB-C interface, but also redesigned every part of the charging box so that it can easily open and replace parts. He also made his production process and resources public for free, so that anyone can follow his steps to make his own repairable charging box.

Ken Pillonel said that the purpose of his project is to show that the AirPods Pro charging box can be repaired, not broken and only discarded. He hopes to raise people's awareness of environmental issues and stimulate more people's interest in innovation and transformation. He also said he would continue with similar projects to provide repairable solutions for more Apple products.
