Support for the development of applications that can help address society's greatest challenges, such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, early cancer detection and prevention, and response to cyber threats.

The organization will first set up an advisory committee to begin to develop recommendations on safety standards for cutting-edge artificial intelligence models, conduct artificial intelligence security research, and share the results with other companies and governments.

Brad Smith, president of Microsoft, was quoted in the joint statement as saying: "it is the responsibility of the company that created artificial intelligence technology to ensure that it is safe, reliable and under human control. This initiative is an important step for the scientific and technological community to jointly promote the development of responsible artificial intelligence and meet the challenges, so that it can benefit all mankind."

The Frontier Model Forum also welcomes more companies engaged in the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence models to join the organization, as long as they also demonstrate a strong commitment to the security of cutting-edge models, including through technical and institutional approaches.
