After an analysis of the various teams in the company, it is found that some teams no longer meet the strategic needs of the company. Kici employees ski said the job cuts will affect about 100 people, some of whom will be laid off in the first quarter of 2024. This gives team members enough time to deal with and adapt to changes, he says, and the company offers generous severance pay for each former employee.

CTOnews.com noted that CD Projekt announced in May that it had laid off 29 employees after adjusting the size of the wizard spin-off game Project Sirius. These employees are mainly from The Molasses Flood Studio in the United States, the developer of Hongchao Flame, which was acquired by CD Projekt in 2021. Also in May, the company announced that it would fire about 30 Quint team members after deciding to stop supporting Quint in 2023. It is not clear whether the layoffs include the Quint team.

CD Projekt Red is currently developing a number of projects, including games codenamed Polaris (a new series of wizards), Orion (a new series of cyberpunks) and Hadar (the new IP).
