CTOnews.com, July 25 (Xinhua)-- according to foreign media The Verge today, the European Council has passed a new regulation aimed at providing more convenience for European electric vehicle users and reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions.

The regulation requires EU member countries to set up a fast charging station every 60km and provide at least 150kW charging power on the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) highway system from 2025.

At the same time, the law also requires users to pay for temporary charges through cards or contactless devices without having to subscribe to charging devices. In addition, operators of charging services need to clearly list key information such as the price, waiting time and availability of installed charging stations.

The Pixabay regulation, which is part of the EU's "Fit for 55" policy package, has been formally approved by the European Council, but some formalities need to be completed before it can take effect as a law within EU member states.
