CTOnews.com July 25 news, Asustek recently launched the Pro WS W680M-ACE SE motherboard for compact workstation users, which uses Micro-ATX form factor and LGA 1700 slot, and supports Intel's 12Compact 13G Kerry processor.

Different from the conventional Intel LGA 1700 motherboard, Asustek's new Pro WS W680M-ACE SE motherboard uses the W680 chipset and is equipped with two ASpeed AST 2600 BMC controllers based on Arm Cortex A7 core, one of which is Cortex M3 and the other is an independent 2D graphics chip for state monitoring and remote control of computers.

The motherboard is also equipped with a SlimSAS port through which users can connect up to four SATA hard drives or one disk with PCIe 4.0x4 interface, but Asustek does not provide an adapter cable.

Asustek's new Pro WS W680M-ACE SE motherboard is designed for workstations and fully supports ECC memory error correction technology.

The motherboard is also equipped with two M.2 PCIe 4.0x4 slots for plugging into NVMe SSD hard drives, and one PCIe 5.0x16, one PCIe 4.0x4, and one PCIe 3.0x1 interface.

The motherboard also supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface (10 Gbit / s), with one DisplayPort port and one HDMI port, two 2.5G network ports and one gigabit network port.

Asustek promises to run the motherboard reliably around the clock at ambient temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius and up to 80% relative humidity.

Asustek did not announce the price of the Pro WS W680M-ACE SE motherboard, but the full-size ATX motherboard Pro WS W680M-ACE sold for $330 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 2373 yuan), and the mATX version is expected to sell below that price.
