CTOnews.com, July 25 (Xinhua) luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz plans to launch a long-awaited electric model. The car company has now released a preview of the new entry-level electric model, which is close to the size of the CLA.

According to Autocar, the new entry-level electric concept car will have a size similar to that of the CLA and similar design elements to the Mercedes EQXX concept car, with a range of up to 747 miles (CTOnews.com Note: about 1202.18 km).

Foreign media believe that this entry-level concept car is based on Mercedes-Benz's new MMA platform and is likely to use lithium iron phosphate battery packs derived from BYD.

In September this year, Mercedes-Benz will unveil the conceptual design of this new entry-level electric model at IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich, Germany, and we will give you a more detailed report.

As a company striving for electrification, Mercedes-Benz will show off its next generation of electric models later this year.

At present, the company already has five pure electric models, including EQS sedan, EQS SUV, EQB, EQE sedan and EQE SUV.

Mercedes said that the highlight of the IAA Mobility 2023 this year will be its entry-level market and will show off a number of new concept cars.

According to Autocar, the new CLA model is expected to be available in 2025, using internally developed electric and mild hybrid gasoline transmission systems.

Combined with previous news, the new MMA platform focuses on small and medium-sized and compact cars and will support fuel, hybrid and pure electric power structures. In particular, it should be noted that the MMA platform also supports 800V overcharge system, permanent magnet synchronous motor, SiC power electronic devices and other technologies.

According to reports, the mass production version of this concept car will be unveiled in 2024. its pure electric power system provides single-motor front drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive, which can provide power of at least 200hp (149kW) and can achieve a range of 450km under WLTP conditions.
