Mr. Pei Dingyi, born in Zhangdian District, Zibo City, Jiangsu Province, is a professor and doctoral supervisor who has been engaged in the research and teaching of algebra, number theory and cryptography for a long time.

Mr. Pei Dingyi was admitted to the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Science and Technology of China in 1959. After graduating from the university in 1964, he was admitted as a graduate student of this department and studied algebra and number theory under Professor Hua Luogeng. Rich and in-depth achievements have been made in the study of matrix geometry and circular fields.

On December 25, 1978, Mr. Pei Dingyi, as one of the first batch of 50 visiting scholars sent by the Ministry of Education to the United States after the reform and opening up, entered the mathematics department of the world-famous Princeton University for further study. Professor G.Shimura, a master of number theory, studied module forms. He made extraordinary achievements in the study of the basic theorem of 3gamma and 2-weighted module forms, and clearly constructed the foundation of any level of 3gamma-2-weighted Eisenstein space. This achievement was evaluated as one of the most important achievements in the field of modular form by the international circle of number theory at that time.

After returning from Princeton in 1981, he gradually shifted from the field of number theory to cryptography research. His research achievements in cryptography have successively won the first prize and the second prize (collective prize) for national scientific and technological progress, especially in the research of authentication codes. International first-class results have been achieved.

In 1990, Mr. Pei Dingyi began to participate in the preparation of the China Cryptography Society. In March 2007, the China Cryptography Society was established. Mr. Pei Dingyi served as the first and second chairman of the board of directors, actively promoting the international and domestic academic exchanges of Chinese cryptography. In 2015, he was awarded the Outstanding contribution Award of the China Cryptography Society and later served as honorary director of the China Cryptography Society. In 2019, he was awarded the commemorative medal for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China.
