There are basically no functional updates in this update, mainly to fix 16 vulnerabilities. These 16 fixed defects cover the kernel, Find My, WebKit, and Apple Neural Engine categories. Apple said two of them may have been actively exploited.

Due to the upcoming launch of iOS 17, iOS 16 is not expected to bring any new user-oriented features in the future. It is worth mentioning that this version is likely to be one of the last updates to iOS 16, which will shift to security-focused updates.

In addition, Apple iOS 17 also removed support for iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This means that these phones will receive the final iOS 16 update, but in fact Apple has been releasing security updates to older hardware for years, so you don't have to worry about it.

It should be noted that due to the cache configuration problem of Apple node servers in various regions, the upgrade and update time may be slightly delayed in some places, usually within half an hour, not too long.
