CTOnews.com, July 24 (Xinhua)-- Apple's new Apple Watch Ultra smartwatch, which Apple plans to launch this year, will be lighter than the current model, according to Weibo blogger @ instant Digital. The blogger had accurately predicted that Apple would launch a yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus this spring.

According to CTOnews.com, the weight of the current Apple Watch Ultra is 61.3g, which is nearly double the weight of 41mm aluminum Apple Watch Series 8 (32g).

Apple analyst Guo Mingyi recently revealed that the second generation of Apple Watch Ultra will use 3D printed mechanical parts. These parts may include the digital crown, side buttons and Action buttons, which are all mechanical parts of the Apple Watch Ultra. At present, these titanium parts are manufactured by NC machining.

It is not clear whether 3D printing will help Apple reduce the weight of the Apple Watch Ultra, but it is expected to shorten production time and reduce costs.

In addition to the new chips based on the A15 bionic chip, it is not clear what new features the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Series 9 watches will have. It is rumored that Apple will launch the two new watches later this year.
