Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com July 24 news, according to Korean media Thelec reported that at the request of Apple, Samsung and LG are developing iPhone OLED display without front frame, the ultimate goal is to set the frame width to zero.

According to the report, in order to comply with Apple's requirements, Samsung Display and LG Display are working hard to achieve frameless OLED, they need to improve thin film packaging (TFE) and under-screen camera (UPC) technology and ensure antenna space. It is still a technology that takes a long time to develop before it can be applied to mass production.

It is worth mentioning that Apple wants to achieve a borderless display while maintaining the flat display of the iPhone and the angular design of the side of the product, for which they refuse to adopt curved screen technology. Another reason is that curved screen technology makes some applications optically "magnifying glass," which Apple is very taboo. In addition to optical distortion effects, curved screens may be less resistant to falls, which Apple doesn't want to see.

According to CTOnews.com, multiple sources indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra) will further narrow the border, which has been indirectly confirmed by the exposed models.

Weibo digital blogger @ Back and forth 537 recently claimed that he "got the iPhone 15 series model machine" and showed a set of photos. Another well-known digital blogger @i Ice Universe commented on the black edge of "close-up," and from the photos returned by the former, it can be seen that the frame of the machine is indeed significantly narrower, but there is still a big gap from Apple's requirement for a front frameless display design.
