Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thank CTOnews.com netizens for having clues of crucian carp Xuehu and OC_Formula to deliver! CTOnews.com July 24 news, RISC-V China Community official WeChat today announced that the Debian community has formally accepted riscv64 as the official support framework.

▲ source RISC-V official WeChat account RISC-V China Community said that this is likely to be the starting point for a new round of explosive growth of support for RISC-V Ecology, as many projects, including Google's Chromium project, rely directly on Debian's binary package. After Debian approves the official support architecture for RISC-V, there may be many open source projects that rely on Debian to complete support for RISC-V in a very short period of time.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the Debian community announced last month that it would bring RISC-V 64-bit support in the future Debian 13 "Trixie".

RISC-V is an open source instruction set architecture based on the principle of reduced instruction set, which is regarded as the best alternative to ARM. The architecture, created in 2010 by researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, can produce products with similar performance to ARM chips, while reducing chip area and power consumption by about 50 per cent. Prior to this, 13 companies, including Google, Intel, Pingtou, Samsung, MediaTek, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Andes, Imagination, Red Hat, Rivos, SiFive and Ventana, jointly launched the global RISC-V software ecology program "RISE".
