CTOnews.com July 24, Great Wall Chaoyun (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. recently launched a domestic "liquid-cooled server", model R5215 L12, based on Intel Whitley platform Ice-Lake processor.

▲ R5215 L12 liquid-cooled server according to the introduction, the server supports 2 liquid-cooled version of strong Ice-Lake processors, provides 32 memory slots, up to 3200Mhz frequency, can support 8-channel read; support 12 3.5-inch hard drives and 4 2.5-inch small disks; up to 2 high-performance full-height double-width GPU cards.

In terms of heat dissipation, the server uses cold plate heat dissipation technology to achieve the design of air-liquid mixed heat dissipation system with the same computing power requirements. It claims that a single server can reduce energy consumption by more than 60% and ensure that the PUE of the data center is reduced to less than 1.2.

In addition, the on-line hot plug is supported between the server and the cabinet through fast connectors; the end joint of the liquid cooling pipe adopts ethylene propylene rubber sealing ring to realize the compatibility of many kinds of refrigerants without dripping; the whole machine has the function of liquid leakage detection to monitor the status of the liquid cooling pipeline in real time.

Great Wall Chaoyun said R5215 L12 could be used in industries such as scientific research, finance, operators and the Internet. CTOnews.com query learned that the server uses an insulated, non-corrosive special liquid-fluorinated liquid, which is jointly developed by Great Wall Chaoyun, Beijing University of Chemical Technology and a chemical research institute.

According to "Beijing Yizhuang" official account, Great Wall Chaoyun R5215 L12 received a number of orders once it was launched, and now it has achieved mass production, which is used in energy and power, Internet and national supercomputing centers and other fields.
