AWA can bring short-term benefits to most companies, and the software is now ready to take over increasingly complex but repetitive human tasks.

Conversational AI (AI-based chat tools) report points out that although AI-based chat tools are now quite common, the technology can still provide a return on investment in the short term because of the reduction in training costs. Current e-commerce, B2B sales and customer service functions will be able to benefit from conversational artificial intelligence.

Decentralized digital identity decentralized digital identity (DDID), or "digital document", which Forrester believes "will eventually replace physical identity documents", with financial services, government and education likely to benefit the most, while blockchain will also play an important role in this slow transition.

Edge Intelligence Forrester describes "edge intelligence" as "transforming massive data sets generated by computer vision and sensors into real-time action". The technology focuses on the on-board industry, and drones, self-driving trains and so on can also benefit.

The report divides the top ten technologies into three parts: short-term benefit period (less than two years), medium-term benefit period (two to five years), and long-term benefit period (more than five years).

Among them, short-term technologies include generative AI, autonomous workplace assistants and conversational AI,Forrester. It is believed that these AI technologies occupy more dominant positions in the industry and can quickly benefit enterprises. Medium-term technologies include decentralized digital identity, marginal intelligence, interpretable artificial intelligence and Turing robots. Long-term technologies include extended reality, Web3 and zero-trust edges. Forrester believes that although these technologies are not a "cash cow" at the moment, actively deploying relevant technologies will still give enterprises more room for development in the future.
