Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues about the past. CTOnews.com, July 23 (Xinhua) recently, Ms. Zhang, the owner of Tesla's "car roof protection" car, posted on social media that her reputation dispute case and personal information protection dispute case with Tesla Company had opened at the second trial of the Intermediate people's Court of Anyang City, Henan Province, on July 21.

Ms. Zhang said that this was the first lawsuit in her life, and her opponent was a car company with the first market capitalization, so she also made a reflection after the end of the first trial. She felt that she had not prepared sufficient evidence at the first instance, which led to the failure of the court to support her claim. Therefore, she added new evidence in the second trial, hoping to get a fair and just verdict.

Earlier, Ms. Zhang revealed that she did not ask for any financial compensation in this appeal, but just hoped that Tesla and his director of public relations, Tao Lin, would publicly apologize and restore her reputation.

It is reported that Ms. Zhang sued Tesla because her father had an accident driving an imported Model 3 in February 2021. Afterwards, Ms. Zhang and her family thought that there was a "brake failure" in the vehicle, and repeatedly sought a solution from Tesla. However, after months of failure in safeguarding her rights, Ms. Zhang adopted an extreme way of safeguarding her rights at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 19, 2021, which aroused widespread concern and controversy from all walks of life.

With regard to Ms. Zhang's rights protection behavior, Tesla and its global vice president Tao Lin have made a lot of negative comments on social media, questioning Ms. Zhang's motives and integrity, and implying that she has been exploited by some forces. These remarks aroused the dissatisfaction of Ms. Zhang and became one of the main grounds for her to sue Tesla for infringing the right of reputation.

In late May, the Shanghai Qingpu District people's Court issued a judgment of first instance on two cases involving Ms. Zhang and Tesla. The court found that Ms. Zhang did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that Tesla and its public relations director Tao Lin violated her reputation and rejected her claim. Ms. Zhang expressed dissatisfaction with the verdict and filed an appeal.

At present, the three cases of Ms. Zhang and Tesla are still under second trial, and no final decision has yet been made. In addition, it is reported that Tesla has also sued Ms. Zhang for infringement of reputation rights and claimed 5 million yuan, but the case has not been heard, CTOnews.com will keep an eye on it.
