Compared with Model 3 discounts (ranging from a few hundred dollars to more than $5000), Model Y discounts are relatively small (up to $2770) and are mostly performance models.

Because of the new rules introduced in the United States last year, Tesla is not eligible for any form of federal tax credit if the standard extended version of Model 3 falls below $35000 (currently about 251000 yuan).

Although the vast majority of Americans are not eligible for the full $7500 tax credit, the price already poses a threat to fuel vehicles.

For comparison, the current 2023 Honda Accord starts at $27285 (currently about 197000 yuan), Toyota Camry starts at $26430 (currently about 191000 yuan), Civic costs $23750 (currently about 172000 yuan), and Carola costs $21700 (currently about 157000 yuan).

According to previous revelations, Tesla plans to launch a new version of Model 3 in the third quarter of this year, so he is currently cleaning up existing inventory as much as possible.

Considering that Model 3 has been on the market for six years, it is really necessary for Tesla to make a big update. Given that this model has a lot in common with Model Y, the industry expects Tesla to launch a new Model Y soon.
