CTOnews.com July 22 news, Telegram's time-limited circle of friends function "Stories" function has been quietly launched recently, according to Telegram official push in the reply to netizens 'questions, at present only Premium paying users can send stories.

The "story" function is similar to WeChat circle of friends, where users can send pictures and video content that can only be viewed by friends, but unlike ordinary circle of friends, such content has a time limit and will be deleted after up to 48 hours. This time-limited friend circle feature has been quite popular on Snapchat and Instagram.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Telegram CEO Pavel Durov said that he was initially reluctant to add the feature, but after continuous user requests, he finally decided to launch the story and emphasized the particularity of the service with six keywords:

Users are free to define their audience precisely. Instagram allows users to post stories publicly or only to lists of close friends. Telegram goes a step further, allowing users to choose between "everyone,""only your contacts (with exceptions),""some selected contacts," or "close friends list."

The Telegram team says it won't disrupt the existing user experience and that the feature will be placed in an extension bar at the top of the chat list so it's easy to access without taking up valuable space.

flexibility

If users don't want to see stories posted by a contact, they can choose to hide them. This can be set in the "Hide" list in the "Contacts" option.

captions

Users can add captions and more descriptive text to photo/video stories.

Front and rear dual camera support

It's an interesting feature that could become popular as "poor panoramic shots," which would allow users to post photos or videos taken by the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

Optional time limit

Similar features on current competitors are usually only set to delete after 24 hours, but Telegram offers flexible options for 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours, and of course can permanently display stories on profile pages, with separate privacy settings for each story.
