Brin, 49, has been working three to four days a week at Google's offices in Mountain View, Calif., in recent months, working with researchers on Google's next big AI system, according to ▲ Touyuan Pexels.

Brin attended meetings on AI in Google's office at the end of last year, but now his participation has increased in frequency and intensity, according to people familiar with the matter. Brin became a "runaway shopkeeper" after he resigned as an executive at Google's parent company Alphabet in 2019, but his position on AI has changed dramatically.

Sources also pointed out that Brin was even involved in personnel matters, such as hiring sought-after researchers. Alphabet CEO Sandel Pichai (Sundar Pichai) is also reported to be excited about Brin's participation and encourages him to make more contributions in this regard.
