Quest Pro is a high-end VR headset that went on sale last November, equipped with eye tracking and face tracking for color perspective and mixed reality effects. However, due to low resolution, poor perspective quality, insufficient processor performance, lack of automatic room sensing, and Meta's cartoonized image does not show the advantages of face tracking, Quest Pro's evaluation and sales are not ideal. Meta also lowered the Quest Pro's price from $1500 to $1000 in March (CTOnews.com notes: currently about 7230 yuan).

Quest 3, which will be available this fall, is a mass-market VR headset that costs less but has twice the GPU performance of Quest Pro. Meta founder mark zuckerberg also said Quest 3's perspective is better and more advanced than Quest Pro's. Quest 3 doesn't have eye tracking or face tracking, though, so Meta won't offer those features if Quest Pro is discontinued after Quest 3 hits the market.

In addition, Meta reportedly "suspended" Quest Pro 2 development, and The Verge reported that the company's move was also seen in the Meta roadmap leaked in March. The roadmap shows Meta instead plans to launch a more ambitious Quest Pro 2 with Codec Avatars for real spatial remote communication, but this product will not be available until 2024.

A Meta representative reiterated the company's statement when Quest 3 was announced: "Together with Quest 3, we will continue to sell Quest 2 and Pro, and we will continue to release new software updates to make the Quest experience even better." "
