CTOnews.com, July 20, Activision Blizzard confirmed in its financial report that the development of call of Duty 2023 is progressing smoothly and is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year (October-December).

Activision Blizzard said: "Activision's team is working hard to build a new chapter in the series, which is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter, and the development of the game on PC and console platforms is progressing smoothly."

Activision Blizzard also revealed that call of Duty: mobile Games in the War Zone is closely integrated with the PC and mainframe experience and is still under regional testing.

It is reported that this year's call of Duty is a sequel to last year's Modern Warfare 2, led by Sledgehammer Games Studios. Activision Blizzard seemed to confirm the news earlier this week, saying that the roles, weapons and bundles of Modern Warfare 2 will continue into this year's series. It is said that the map and model of Modern Warfare 2 will also be transplanted to the new work.

Activision Blizzard said on Tuesday that the first details of this year's game debut will be released in announcements for the fifth seasons of Modern Warfare 2 and War Zone 2, which are expected to be launched in early August.

"call of Duty will celebrate its 20th anniversary in October and currently has about 9000 million players a month, more than half of whom participate on mobile platforms," the company said in its earnings report on Wednesday. " Activision Blizzard also claimed that global consumer spending on call of Duty: mobile Games has exceeded $3 billion since its launch in October 2019 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 21.69 billion yuan).

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard have signed an agreement to extend the deadline for completing the acquisition to October 18. The two companies are still seeking regulatory approval for the deal from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the last major obstacle to closing the deal.
