Consolidated revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2023 was NT $480.84 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently approximately NT $111.555 billion), net profit was NT $181.8 billion (currently approximately NT $42.178 billion) and diluted earnings per share was NT $7.01 (currently approximately NT $1.62632).

TSMC's second-quarter revenue fell 10.0 per cent from a year earlier, while net profit and diluted earnings per share fell 23.3 per cent. Compared with the first quarter of 2023, revenue in the second quarter fell 5.5% from the previous quarter, and net profit decreased by 12.2% from the previous quarter.

In dollar terms, TSMC's second-quarter revenue was $15.68 billion, down 13.7 per cent from a year earlier and 6.2 per cent from a month earlier. The gross profit margin in the second quarter was 54.1%, the operating profit margin was 42.0%, and the net profit margin was 37.8%.

In the second quarter, TSMC's shipments of 5 nm accounted for 30% of total wafer revenue, while advanced technology (7 nm and more) accounted for 53% of wafer revenue.
