Specifically, the recruitment time is from July 18, 2023 to August 1, 2023. The product equipment recruited is a fully automatic contact high vacuum baking line, which is mainly used for cell baking of large cylindrical batteries before liquid injection. Battery baking logistics line mainly includes the following parts: feeding system, drying system, handling system, cooling & unloading system, control system and so on. It means the latest progress in BYD's large cylindrical battery business.

In addition, a related patent applied for by BYD was exposed in August last year as a hexagonal cell. Previous industry insiders have speculated that the battery core will be modified based on a large cylindrical battery and will use lithium iron phosphate chemical system.

At present, car companies, including Tesla and BMW, have shown great interest in using large cylindrical batteries. According to CTOnews.com, domestic lithium battery manufacturer Yiwei LiNeng will provide large cylindrical batteries for BMW's electric vehicles in Europe.

Yiwei LiNeng has signed a contract to become the main battery supplier to BMW's new series of electric vehicles that will be listed in Europe in 2025, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal. Yiwei LiNeng responded in an interview with the relevant media: the company has been designated by BMW before, and the company's production line is under construction. After completion, it can be supplied normally through negotiation with the other party.

In addition, at this year's EUROBIKE 2023 European Bicycle Show in Frankfurt, Germany, Yiwei Lithium released 46 series of large cylindrical lightweight battery packs for the first time, which claim to have ultra-high energy density.
