Sun Gang mentioned that generative AI will bring about changes in search, content generation, coding, and productivity. Subvert the status quo of the industry, create content in a matter of seconds, huge market opportunities and the potential to significantly improve productivity. Investment related to generative AI will grow by 425% from 2020 to 2022, and it is initially estimated that the market size of generative AI will reach US $1 trillion (currently about RMB 7.23 trillion).

However, he pointed out that the cloud economy is difficult to support generative AI scale expansion, in order to achieve large-scale expansion, the center of AI processing is shifting to the edge. Such as XR, automobile, mobile phone, PC, Internet of things, generative AI will affect the application on all kinds of terminals.

During the 2023MWC, Qualcomm conducted the world's first terminal-side demonstration of generative AI running on Android phones, and the next step was to run a large language model on the terminal.

"at present, we can support models with more than 1 billion parameters to run on the terminal, and models with more than 10 billion parameters in the next few months are expected to run on the terminal side." He said.
