CTOnews.com July 19 news, CTOnews.com learned from the National Energy Administration that in the first half of this year, the national renewable energy development momentum is good, power installation and generation capacity is growing steadily. By the end of June, the country had installed 418 million kilowatts of hydropower, 390 million kilowatts of wind power, 471 million kilowatts of solar power, 43 million kilowatts of biomass power, and the total installed capacity of renewable energy exceeded 1.3 billion kilowatts, reaching 1.322 billion kilowatts, an increase of 18.2 percent over the same period last year and accounting for about 48.8 percent of China's total installed capacity.

From January to June this year, China's renewable energy power generation increased by 109 million kilowatts, accounting for 77% of the new installed capacity in the country. Of these, hydropower increased by 5.36 million kilowatts, wind power by 22.99 million kilowatts, solar power by 78.42 million kilowatts and biomass power generation by 176 million kilowatts. The national renewable energy generation has reached 1.34 trillion kilowatt hours, of which hydropower generation is 516.6 billion kilowatt hours, wind power generation is 462.8 billion kilowatt hours, photovoltaic power generation is 266.3 billion kilowatt hours, and biomass generation is 98.4 billion kilowatt hours.

Renewable energy as the main position of newly installed power generation in China is further consolidated, and the role of ensuring energy supply and promoting clean and low-carbon transformation is becoming more and more prominent.
