Officials pointed out that this marks China's offshore wind power large-capacity turbine R & D, manufacturing and operation capacity to a new level, reaching the international leading level.

According to reports, the hub center of the 16 MW offshore wind turbine is 152 meters high, equivalent to the height of a 52-story building; the engine room and generator combination weighs 385 tons, equivalent to the weight of 190 off-road vehicles.

It has three blades up to 123 meters long, and the sweeping area of the impeller is about 50,000 square meters, which saves more than 35% of the sea area compared with the 8 MW fans commonly used at sea.

According to the calculation of many years' wind data in this sea area, a single unit can output more than 66 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity per year, which can meet the daily needs of 36000 households for a year, save about 22000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 54000 tons.

CTOnews.com learned from the Energy Bureau that from January to May this year, China's wind power installed capacity has reached 382.6 million kilowatts, an increase of 12.7 percent over the same period last year, and a new wind power installed capacity of 1636 kilowatts, an increase of 554 percent over the same period last year. From January to May, the cumulative average utilization of wind power equipment in China was 1081 hours, an increase of 105 hours over the same period last year.

According to the data given by CCTV, nearly 60% of the wind power equipment on the global market is made in China. By the end of 2022, the cumulative installed capacity of global offshore wind power reached 57.6 gigawatts. China's cumulative installed capacity reached 30.51 gigawatts, accounting for 53% of the global market share. China's cumulative wind power export capacity is 11.93 million kilowatts, covering 49 countries and regions. China's wind power equipment exports are growing rapidly.
