Starting from the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft, the China manned Space Engineering Office openly solicited space breeding and carrying experimental projects from the public, and issued a "notice on the opportunity to solicit space breeding experimental projects for Shenzhou series of manned spacecraft" on the engineering official website on March 23. At the same time, it opened a "space breeding carrying experiment" management platform on the engineering official website, and accepted the application of experimental projects by carrying demand units.

The office organized experts to evaluate the application projects and selected 136 aerospace breeding experimental materials from 53 units for carrying, including:

47 crops (12 seeds for food crops, 28 seeds for cash crops, 7 saline-alkali tolerant plants)

76 samples of forest, grass, flowers and medicinal plants (17 trees, 21 forage grasses, 7 flowers, 31 medicinal plants)

There are 13 species of microorganisms (2 species of agricultural microorganisms, 3 species of industrial microorganisms, 3 species of edible fungi, 5 species of algae and moss).

China manned Space Engineering Office said that manned space flight is of a public welfare nature and does not charge a carrying fee. No unit or individual may use manned spaceflight to carry out false propaganda or commercial hype.

According to previous reports by CTOnews.com, on May 30 this year, the long March 2 F Yao 16 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center, and the Shenzhou 16 crew went to the sky. The flight crew of Shenzhou-16 manned spacecraft is composed of astronauts Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao, with Jing Haipeng as commander. The three astronauts will stay for about five months to carry out space science and application load test in orbit, carry out astronaut extravehicular activities and cargo airlock extravehicular activities, carry out extravehicular load installation and space station maintenance and other tasks.
