CTOnews.com, July 19 (Xinhua)-- in response to a tweet from Twitter user FaustoChou, Musk said Twitter is testing a new feature called "Articles" that will allow users to upload very long and complex multimedia articles and "you can post books on it" if they want.

Before Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Twitter launched an experimental feature called Notes in June 2022, which allows users to share long pieces of content and open testing to a small number of authors. Notes allows users to insert pictures, videos, GIF, tweets, and provide text editing features such as bold, italic or strikethrough.

However, after Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 315.92 billion yuan), "Notes" kept coming out of the news of stopping or shutting down. Now, as competitors such as Substack and Threads threaten Twitter's "status", Musk has confirmed the existence of "Articles" in an apparent effort to retain the best creators of his platform in the increasingly fierce competition.

However, Twitter's boss still did not disclose any other details about the "long text" feature, including when people can access it or when it will be publicly launched. In addition, Twitter has begun to share advertising revenue with Blue V certified users, allowing some creators to receive "four-or even five-figure" payments.
