Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, July 19, Intel moved to a hybrid x86 CPU architecture starting with the 11th generation of Alder Lake processors. In the latest video, YouTube channel Tech YES City (TYC) believes that this hybrid chip design causes a variety of delay problems and affects performance.

CTOnews.com embeds the video here as follows:

The latest video is titled "Why does 10900K feel faster than 13900K?" It is believed that the main culprit for system latency and performance degradation is "I / O driver", indicating that this problem is particularly obvious on Win10 systems.

To test and quantify this sensory difference with intuitive data, TYC compared Intel's 10th generation Core i9-10850 K (Comet Lake-S) and Raptor Lake-S i9-13900 K (generation 13) processors.

Win10 and Win11 systems perform equally badly in metrics such as DPC (deferred procedure call) latency, but overall, Win10 is not very good at driving hybrid chip designs.

However, Raptor Lake-S performs better by dragging and dropping MP4 files into the Adobe Premiere Pro app, and quickly opening the MP3 file in the app.

The difference may also be related to core-to-core (C2C) delays, the report said. The C2c latency on the hybrid Intel 13900K varies greatly compared to the 10900K. The c2c at 10900K ranges from as low as 5.6 ns to 23.8 ns, while the c2c at 13900K ranges from 4.0 ns to 53.9. The delay between E cores is especially bad.
