Xiaomi ranked third with 3320 million units shipped. OPPO (including one plus) ranks fourth with a 10 per cent market share. Tencent (including Tecno, Infinix and iTel brands), benefiting from the recovery in Africa and expansion in other markets, jumped to the top five for the first time, with shipments of 22.7 million units, an annual growth rate of 22%.

CTOnews.com hereby attaches some of the contents of Canalys analyst Toby Zhu as follows:

The smartphone market, which has declined for six consecutive quarters since 2022, is sending early signs of recovery.

Smartphone suppliers are accelerating inventory cuts of old models to make room for new product launches.

Canalys noted that in some key markets, manufacturers continue to increase investment in channels in the form of channel incentives and targeted marketing activities to stimulate consumer demand for new products.

For example, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Tencent and other companies have expanded their market share in the price range below $200 through stronger sales incentives and retail offensives.

There are signs that suppliers are preparing for a future market recovery. Suppliers have not stopped investing in manufacturing and have a direct presence in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and India, which will be a strong driver of sustainable growth.
