Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, July 18 (Xinhua)-- Logitech announced that it has acquired Loupedeck for an undisclosed amount, the founder of Helsinki-based custom game consoles and software designed to make the creative process faster and more intuitive for anchors, creators and gamers. The company's products including Loupedeck + image control wheel and Loupedeck CT creative tool console are popular with streaming and creative professionals.

The move is one of several moves Logitech has taken in recent years to compete with competitors such as Elgato in the live broadcast market, following the acquisition of live camera and software company Mevo and live broadcast platform Streamlabs.

According to Logitech's press release, the partnership between Logitech and Loupedeck aims to provide creators with a "more seamless experience", which could mean that Loupedeck hardware will have more default options and better integration with Streamlabs, the live streaming platform Logitech acquired in 2019.

Loupedeck was originally born as a Lightroom editor and has grown into a console for more advanced creative professionals through the Indiegogo crowdfunding project. Loupedeck, which includes former Nokia designers, has launched Loupedeck Live and Loupedeck Live S in recent years to compete directly with Elgato's Stream Deck. Thunder Snake even uses a combination of Loupedeck hardware and software to launch its own Stream Controller.

CTOnews.com notes that Logitech and Corsair have been acquiring game-related accessory makers in recent years. In addition to Streamlabs, Logitech has acquired blue microphones (Blue Microphones) and game headphone maker Astro. Logitech also recently decided to abolish the blue microphone brand and include Yeti and Astro products under the Logitech G brand. Pirate ships are also making acquisitions, just this week with mechanical keyboard giant Drop,2021, streaming vision company Visuals by Impulse,2019, Scuf Gaming, maker of competitive handles, and Origin PC, maker of fever-grade PC.

Logitech said that the acquisition of Loupedeck would make use of the "complementary expertise" of both sides to provide a closer integration between hardware and software. Loupedeck assured its existing customers and partners that the company would continue to support them and operate the business as planned.

However, it is unclear how Logitech will deal with Loupedeck's brand, or whether the company will integrate Loupedeck into its Logitech G app. Considering that Logitech has incorporated Yeti and Astro into its Logitech G brand, it is reasonable to assume that it will do the same for Loupedeck in the future.
