CTOnews.com, July 18 (Xinhua) in May this year, Microsoft's Edge browser launched a game mode called Edge for Gamers, which has been renamed and updated.

The model, now called "Gaming Loadout", has seen some improvements on Canary recently. Windows enthusiasts @ Leopeva64 have found that this mode now has a new pop-up screen that allows users to adjust a range of browser settings according to their preferences.

After turning on the "Gaming Loadout" switch, users can choose different browser settings on the new pop-up screen, including enabling dark mode, turning on the switch to "enhance the PC gaming experience", and adding Discord and Twitch apps to the sidebar. Another new feature is that "Gaming Loadout" can be customized with different themes. Microsoft has worked with some well-known game studios to create a number of exclusive themes, including Halo, my World and Ultimate Speed: horizon 5.

Microsoft's emphasis on games is obvious, but not all users welcome the new feature. CTOnews.com noted that the Edge browser was once praised for its simplicity, but now many new features have made it more and more bloated, which has been complained by many users. Some users think that there are better browsers designed for gamers, such as Opera GX, so there is no need for Edge to add these features.
