CTOnews.com: 09:27 today, Rocket Lab (rocket laboratory), the second largest commercial rocket launcher in the United States, successfully completed the "Baby return" mission, using electronic (Electron) carrier rockets from the LC-1B launch pad at the Marcia launch site in New Zealand to launch seven satellites, four of which are micro-cube satellites for NASA's Starling mission. The other three are LEO 3 demonstration satellites of Canadian communications company Telesat and two cube satellites of Spire Global of the United States.

It is worth mentioning that this is a recyclable rocket, the first-stage rocket splashed down on the sea about 17 minutes after launch. The rocket laboratory has completed the recycling and towed it back to land for inspection and analysis.

CTOnews.com inquiry found that this launch is the 106th space launch in the world this year, the 58th in the United States, the 6th in the rocket laboratory, and the 6th in the Electron carrier rocket.

The mission is part of the first phase of the company's efforts to make the 18-meter-high Electron rocket reusable.

Compared with the way SpaceX is recycled, there are still differences between the two companies. Simply put, Falcon 9 can guide itself to a vertical landing, while Electron is too small to leave enough fuel, so it can only land at sea by parachute.

In fact, the company's original goal was to catch Electron boosters falling directly from the sky by helicopter, but the plan seems to have been shelved.
