CTOnews.com, July 18, according to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, global PC shipments fell 15 per cent year-on-year and increased by 8 per cent in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same period last year.

The report said the global PC market continued to pick up, although it still showed a double-digit year-on-year decline, but narrowed compared with the 28% decline in the first quarter.

Lenovo's ranking of shipments remained unchanged in the second quarter, but shipments fell 18 per cent year-on-year due to continued weak demand in some markets, although double-digit month-on-month growth was a sign of normalised demand and healthier inventory levels.

Hewlett-Packard: HP's market share has reached a new high of 22% since the second quarter of 2021, mainly due to early inventory adjustments and an increase in Chromebook orders.

Dell reported a quarter-on-quarter increase in shipments, but fell by double digits year-on-year due to weak overall demand.

Compared with last year, Apple's shipments grew in single digits, mainly due to new product launches.
