CTOnews.com after inquiry found that the original Baidu public welfare official website is now in a non-open state, reported an error HTTP ERROR 404. Various signs show that Baidu public welfare has been offline in a very low-key state.

Lu Jian, director of Baidu's corporate social responsibility office, responded in a recent interview with China Newsweek: "it is difficult for Baidu public welfare to give full play to its own advantages. Internet public welfare focuses on interaction, links and extensive public participation. This is not our advantage track."

According to the Baidu Encyclopedia page of Baidu Commonweal, on August 5, 2010, Baidu held a small-scale reception to commemorate the fifth anniversary of landing on NASDAQ, at which Li announced that Baidu would set up a public welfare foundation. Baidu public welfare claims to "hope to better carry out public welfare undertakings and give back to the society through professional organization and professional operation". It has participated in many public welfare undertakings such as "Mother's Cellar", "Pink Ribbon", "Huichuan Action" and "1 / 2008 Public Welfare short Film".

As early as 2017, Baidu Public Welfare was interviewed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to "speed up the transformation and improvement of the platform, open up its advantageous resources, and create work performance commensurate with public expectations," but at the end of the year, its fund-raising amount was still at the bottom.

In 2018 and 2019, the Ministry of Civil Affairs asked Baidu Commonweal to "further identify its position, improve its efficiency, provide active service, and play a platform role commensurate with public expectations." however, Baidu Commonweal does not seem to have achieved the above goal.
