Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, July 17 (Xinhua)-- the lunar landing phase of China's manned lunar exploration project has been launched, with plans to carry out an unmanned mission to the moon and achieve the first Chinese landing on the moon by 2030.

According to news from the China manned Space Engineering Office today, in order to make full use of mission resources and promote lunar exploration and scientific research, it is planned to carry out relevant scientific exploration activities on the lunar surface along with the lunar lander carrying scientific payloads. A scientific load scheme is being solicited.

I. scope of solicitation

Scientific research institutions, institutions of higher learning and high-tech enterprises with independent legal personality.

2. Basic load requirements

(1) facing the forefront of lunar scientific research, it is highly forward-looking and innovative. Reference directions: lunar geology and lunar physics, observation and physical research, space life science, as well as deep lunar drilling, lunar resources utilization and so on.

(2) focusing on clear scientific objectives and scientific problems has outstanding research value and predictable research results.

(3) it has good engineering realizability, can adapt to the lunar surface environment (1G gravity, high vacuum, strong radiation, low magnetic field, large temperature difference between day and night and lunar dust, etc.), and meets various conditions for manned lunar exploration missions.

(4) in the unmanned mission to the moon, the lunar lander shall release and separate and carry out the work independently. Manned missions to the moon can be deployed and carried out with the participation of astronauts.

III. Main technical conditions

It can be divided into three types: unmanned lunar mission scientific load, manned lunar mission scientific load and lunar surface drilling special load.

(1) Scientific payload of unmanned missions to the moon

1. Install the total mass ≯ 260kg (can support multiple load installations, separate from the lander after the moon fall)

2. Install the total envelope size 1810mm × 1510mm × 930mm

3. Peak power < 450W

4. Data transmission downlink data rate ≯ 10Mbps.

(2) Scientific payload of manned missions to the moon

1. Uplink total mass ≯ 60kg, total envelope size 980mm × 800mm × 550mm

2. Recovery total mass ≯ 50kg, total envelope size 550mm × 320mm × 300mm (2)

3. The peak power is less than 500W (short time), and the average ≯ is 100W.

(3) lunar surface drilling load

The lunar drilling load is carried in an unmanned mission to the moon.

1. Total quality ≯ 290kg, total envelope size 1810mm × 1510mm × 930mm, with the ability to move, avoid obstacles and meet the lunar survival of long working hours.

2. Peak power < 450W

3. It has the ability of drilling and mining lunar samples with ≮ 10m, preserving sequence, fidelity and packaging, and can carry out thermal, magnetic and seismic detection in drilling.

IV. Related matters

The applicant shall fill in the "Application form for Lunar Scientific payload Plan for manned Lunar Exploration Project" and send it to mulingli@csu.ac.cn before August 15, 2023. In the follow-up, after the China manned Space Engineering Office evaluated and selected the application plan, it organized and carried out the development work.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, the current preliminary plan for manned landing on the moon in China is:

Two carrier rockets are used to send the lunar lander and the manned spacecraft to the lunar orbit for rendezvous and docking, and the astronauts enter the lunar lander from the spacecraft.

After that, the lunar lander is separated from the spacecraft and will descend and land on the lunar surface separately, and the astronauts will land on the moon to carry out scientific expedition and sample collection.

After completing the established mission, the astronauts ascended to the lunar orbit on the lander, rendezvous and docking with the spacecraft, transferred lunar samples to the spacecraft, separated the spacecraft from the lander, and carried out lunar-to-earth transfer back to Earth.
