Through the connecting hole of the water supply of the Heihe River, it enters the Xi'an water supply pipeline of the Jinpen Reservoir of the Heihe River, so as to realize the advance water supply to Xi'an by the Hanji-Wei project. The early opening of water marked the decisive success of the project of diverting Han to Wei, and realized the "handshake" between the Yangtze River and the Yellow River in Guanzhong.

CTOnews.com previously reported that in February last year, the Qinling extra-long water tunnel of the Hanji-Wei project in Shaanxi Province was completed. The extra-long water tunnel, with a total length of 98.3km and a maximum buried depth of 2012 meters, is the first time in human history to cross the Qinling Mountains from the bottom, setting many world records for continuous excavation by TBM single machine.

The Hanji-Wei diversion Project in Shaanxi Province is the largest inter-basin water transfer project in the history of Shaanxi Province. The project draws water from the Hanjiang River and its tributaries of the Ziwu River in Hanzhong, and passes through the Qinling Mountains through a tunnel to the Guanzhong Plain of the Yellow River Basin, in order to solve the problem of water shortage in Guanzhong and even northern Shaanxi Province. it is called "small South-to-North Water diversion" across the Yangtze River and Yellow River systems.

After the completion of the Qinling extra-long water tunnel project, about 1.5 billion square meters of Hanjiang water will be transported to Guanzhong area of Shaanxi every year, which can meet the water needs of four key cities, Xi'an, Xianyang, Weinan and Yangling, and five new cities in Xixian New area. the water needs of 11 county-level cities, including Xingping, Wugong, Sanyuan and Weibei industrial zone, providing water for production and domestic use for 14.11 million people.
