CTOnews.com, July 16, local time, Musk held a meeting with the newly formed xAI team in Twitter Space.

Musk said at the xAI meeting that Tesla is developing his own chip, but he will never call it GPU, or use 100s, H100s and so on to describe it. He also said that Tesla Dojo2 will send force in the direction of the big model.

Mr Musk said Tesla and X.AI would work together, but at a distance. Tesla Hardware 4 will be 3-5 times more powerful than HW 3, while Hardware 5 will be 4-5 times more powerful than HW 4.

He also said that AGI is bound to appear, and xAI is involved in it, giving products that are more competitive than Google's Microsoft OpenAI.

Musk also suggested that "every AI organization on the planet" used Twitter data for training without authorization, but he did not provide evidence.

CTOnews.com reported that Twitter said a few weeks ago that the platform had been "crawled", so they suddenly implemented a current restriction policy to try to find the robots.

"We found multiple entities crawling every tweet and trying to finish it in a few days," Musk explained. This has overwhelmed the system. So we have to take action "and apologize for the inconvenience caused by the sudden restriction.

Given the heavy use of Twitter data by AI software developers for training, Musk said: "I think we will also use public tweets-obviously not using any private information-for training, just like everyone else."

Musk mentioned that Twitter's data set is suitable for "text training" and "image and video training". He made it clear that artificial intelligence systems need more data than humans have created, and hopes that xAI will emulate Google's DeepMind Alpha Zero.

Omar Qazi Qazi, or Whole Mars Catalog, asked Musk some questions about him at the event. For example, he asked if it was possible for xAI to use chips made by NVIDIA or Tesla for data processing.

Musk said: "that belongs to Tesla's problem. Tesla is developing a self-developed chip. I wouldn't call what Tesla makes' GPU', although it can be described as GPU."

He also discussed the supercomputer Dojo that Tesla is developing. Although the supercomputer is currently only used for artificial intelligence machine learning and computer vision training, Musk thinks they will work in the direction of the big model.

The Tesla chief executive said xAI needed to develop a technology to "understand the physical world, not just the Internet", and he thought Tesla's driving data would help it make progress.
