CTOnews.com, July 15, according to the latest research report released by Standard & Poor's Global Mobility, the automobile industry has basically got rid of the shortage of semiconductors.

Car companies suffered severe semiconductor supply shortages during the COVID-19 epidemic, and CTOnews.com quoted the report as saying that annual production fell by 9.5 million vehicles in 2021 due to supply shortages, with the worst in the third quarter of 2021, with an estimated annual loss of 3.5 million vehicles.

The report says the shortage of semiconductors in the auto industry began to ease in 2022, but still lost 3 million vehicles last year.

Semiconductor supply continued to improve this year, with the industry losing "only" about 524000 vehicles in the first half of 2023, the report said.

The study warns that several types of semiconductor chips are still in short supply due to the demand for more chips in modern cars.
