CMA's position has always been to oppose Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard for 69 billion per euro. CMA said the extension would give it more time to review bipartisan proposals to address concerns after approving the deal.

CMA also softened its tone earlier this week after a US court rejected FTC's injunction, indicating that it was ready to resume negotiations with Microsoft.
