CTOnews.com July 14 news, modular notebook manufacturer Framework will launch a 16-inch Laptop 16 large-screen model later this year, graphics, storage, screen, keyboard and other components can be replaced by users themselves. Framework shares the progress of the new machine every once in a while, and today officially announced the battery and speaker information of this notebook.

Framework said it collaborated with ATL to customize the battery, which uses a 4S 1P architecture with four lithium-ion batteries and a battery capacity of 85Wh. In addition, the official also improved the battery connector, using an integrated blade connector, making battery replacement easier. In terms of life, officials say the battery still has 80% capacity after 1,000 cycles.

On the speaker side, Framework says the audio system in Laptop 16 takes a giant leap forward in loudness and fidelity, including a pair of 1W tweeters and a pair of 2W woofers. The audio circuit on the motherboard uses Realtek's ALC295 and ALC1318 chips, both of which provide reliable support in Windows and Linux.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the notebook features a BOE semi-custom screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, variable refresh rate up to 165Hz, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 500 nits brightness. The display module can also be replaced by itself.

In addition, officials say the Framework Laptop 16 is extremely rugged, with magnesium alloy and machined aluminum parts, a standard thickness of less than 18 mm and a stand-alone version thickness of less than 21 mm. The laptop case consists of two core mechanical components: a magnesium alloy bottom cover and a CNC aluminum top cover. Both parts are manufactured by Framework in partnership with Catcher Technology, one of the leading housing manufacturers.

Framework Laptop 16 will be released this summer and pre-orders will be available later.
