Analysts believe that in terms of the text of the bill alone, Apple may argue that its current "self-service program" will meet the legal requirements.

Under the new law, Apple only needs to extend its self-service program to all 27 EU countries and its complete product line to meet the requirements of the bill. Considering that the bill will not take effect until 2027 at the earliest, Apple has plenty of time to carry out the plan.

On the other hand, a former iFixit employee wrote that although the bill was 129 pages long, there was no clear definition of "easy to replace" from beginning to end.

In addition, the analysis also believes that from the perspective of mobile phone manufacturers, integrated battery design can lead to a lighter and more waterproof user experience, and manufacturers such as Apple will naturally try their best to oppose any modification of existing mobile phone battery designs. It is worth noting that some European iPhone users also said they would rather iPhone than change the existing battery design, and thought the EU legislation was "ridiculous".

Finally, the analysis said that in a worst-case scenario, Apple could also choose to continue to "pull" with the European Union through a lawsuit for a few years after the law came into effect in 2027, even if Apple loses the case, it is also likely to choose alternatives such as free and dedicated maintenance tools to meet EU legal requirements.
