CTOnews.com July 14 news, Unicode Alliance plans to approve Emoji 15.1 specification in September this year, plans to introduce vertical head, horizontal head, lemon, phoenix, broken chain, brown mushroom and other Emoji expression.

Draft Emoji 15.1, like Emoji 12.1 approved in 2019 and Emoji 13.1 approved in 2020, all candidate Emoji are built on zero-width connector (ZWJ) sequences, using previously existing emoji to build new designs and concepts, such as horizontal shaking heads, which add horizontal line indications to existing emoji.

Draft Emoji 15.1 plans to add 108 Emoji, most of which consist of emojis of people with multiple skin tones.

Because Apple, Google and other device manufacturers take a while to review, users typically have to wait until 2024 to see these new Emoji.
