CTOnews.com July 13, the electric sports car MG Cyberster was unveiled in the form of a concept car close to mass production at the Shanghai Auto Show and was officially unveiled at the Goodwood Speed Festival today.

The MG Cyberster is the first brand new sports car with octagonal MG logo since the MG F in 1995. MG claims that this will be the world's first "reasonably priced" electric sports car, much lower than the existing electric performance car. The car is available in two models, a rear-wheel drive version of 309hp and a four-wheel drive dual-motor version of 536hp, priced at £55000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 512000 yuan) and £65000 (currently about 605000 yuan).

Some information about the car could not be confirmed before the official release of the Goodwood Speed Festival, but it is understood that the lighter single-motor model weighs about 1850 kilograms, and the dual-motor version is expected to add 135kg.

The MG Cyberster is a two-seater convertible with an electric folding roof and, thanks to no engine at the front, a spacious and comfortable cockpit and a scissors door design.

CTOnews.com previously reported that SAIC Mingjue Cyberster had been declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in April 2023 with a size of 4535 × 1913 × 1329mm and wheelbase 2690mm. The new car provides rear-drive and four-wheel-drive versions, the maximum power of rear-drive models is 231kW, and the comprehensive power of all-wheel-drive models can reach 400kW.
